Hollow Glass Beads made of borosilicate glass
SiLibeads® AIR Hollow Glass Beads are made of thin-walled micro-borosilicate glass. They are characterised by their chemical stability, low density and high compressive strength. Thanks to their unique design, these beads offer excellent performance as a filler in various materials and applications.
Applications
Adhesives
Hollow Glass Beads reduce weight and improve sound insulation. They minimise shrinkage, improve thermal and electrical insulation and help to reduce costs.
Sealants
Hollow Glass Beads reduce the weight and cost of sealants, improve sound insulation and reduce shrinkage. They contribute to improving thermal and electrical insulation.
Coatings
SiLibeads® AIR increase the filling level at low viscosity, improve flow properties, gloss and processability of coatings. They also increase the hardness and abrasion resistance of the coating and reduce UV degradation.
Automotive applications
In PVC-based plastisols for various automotive applications.
Injection moulding/extrusion
In injection moulding and extrusion, Hollow Glass Beads improve the level of detail and reduce production costs. They increase rigidity and reduce warping of end products.
Composite materials
As a filler to reduce weight in composite materials such as lightweight concrete or cement.
Fillers
Use in fillers enables weight reduction and cost savings, improves sound insulation and reduces shrinkage. They also offer improved thermal and electrical insulation.
